Tall woodland perennial with striking white plumes of flowers from elongated stems of broad, bright green leaves.

Requires dappled sunlight in old growth and mature mixed Douglas Fir/Bigleaf Maple forest with a healthy and established understory, with lots of downed wood and companion plants Vine Maple, Sword Fern, Low Oregon Grape, Maianthemum spp., Bleeding Heart, Osoberry, Hooker’s and/or Smith’s Fairybells, Red Baneberry, Pacific Waterleaf, Claytonia spp., Osmorhiza spp., Galium spp., Circaea spp., Columbia Lily, et al.

Uncommon in Oregon; rare and threatened in Washington, existing only in small scattered populations due to extensive habitat loss from logging. 

Provenance: seeds obtained with permission from private property in Lewis County, Washington.
