Plants
  • Plants labeled “Hyperlocal – SNP Nursery Grounds” are propagated from naturally occurring native plants on our nursery property.
  • Every Skamania Native Plant is nursery-propagated, never dug from the wild.
  • We hand-collect or carefully source our seed, with respect and care for parent populations, and grow organically without peat, pesticides, or synthetics.
  • Each batch of soil we mix is imbued with beneficial native mycorrhizae: when we clean human-claimed areas like our driveway, gutters, and patios, we compost the collected needles, leaves, and cones along our forest edge where they decompose and intermingle with native fungi. This hyperlocal native inoculant forms more effective root partnerships than commercial products, improving drought tolerance, nutrient uptake, and long-term establishment in our Pacific Northwest soils.
  • Our plants grow outdoors year-round in an intact native forest setting at roughly 900 feet in the Cascade foothills, facing real seasons and weather that build resilience for Pacific Northwest gardens.
  • As a small backyard nursery, every plant gets individual attention.
  • Due to our natural setting, our pots often include native organic material such as mosses, lichens, fungi, or even volunteer native seedlings (yours to keep!).
