A tall, fast-growing perennial with vivid magenta flower spikes blooming from early to mid-summer. Commonly reaches 3–6 feet tall or higher and spreads readily by rhizomes and an abundance of seed. Best suited to restoration projects, large meadows, and open sites following disturbance.
